CoVAS
CoVAS is a hardware accessory package for use
with the
CHEPS system. CoVAS offers computerized,
real-time, continuous VAS evaluation – adding an
important dimension to pain threshold
measurements. It can be used for continuous
monitoring of response during therapeutic and
experimental sessions, as well as measuring
outcomes in pharmacological drug trials.
A patient-controlled potentiometer, or slider,
is utilized and the thermal stimulation and
patient response curves are synchronized and
available for export to a variety of spreadsheet
programs for analysis.
CoVAS is
also available in a special non-magnetic version
for use in an fMRI environment. The hardware is
modified to work inside the MRI exam room,
connected via a long cable to the CHEPS cart,
located outside of the MRI room. |

fMRI Filter
Used to prevent mutual magnetic interference /
noises between the MRI device and the thermode. |

PATHWAY Parallel
Control
PATHWAY Parallel Control is an add-on
PATHWAY feature, allowing researchers to manage
test methods & protocols using external 8-bit
interface commands. This feature helps the
researcher in determining which test from the
PATHWAY data base would be best to use.
Parallel Control interface is available for
PATHWAY v3.2 and up and requires additional
installation to the standard PATHWAY program.
The Parallel Control interface allows running a
test automatically from a list of 255
predetermined programs which are saved in the
PATHWAY program data base. |
